RECKY (Dave Reck) Ando has converted me

I officially stand corrected...I didnt think too much of Daniel Anderson either when he was sub-ordinate to that idiot Brian smith or when he was at the warriors...when the Parra job came available I was hoping JT would get it over Daniel Anderson and brian Smith....only shows what I know Hey !...actually I think if Ando needs some help at parra JT could still be a help around the place. Amazing what happened since the f'n dictator fitzgerald got the heave ho All I know is that next week WILL N… Continue

a scheMer sMile I've Died & Gone To NRL Heaven

Personally (Broncos & Eels supporter) this has the potential to be the greatest NRL Final Series of all time. Firstly the Mighty Eels for the second time in the history of the McIntyre System, the eighth placed finisher beat the minor premiers to turn the final series on its head. The Titans now face the inform Eels in Sydney on Friday night to battle it out for the right to face a Kimmorley led Bulldogs. If the Eels beat the Titans then I would be taken back to my teenage years when life… Continue

RECKY (Dave Reck) Where have all the characters gone ???

I was thinking to myself the other day about how the NRL have taken a bonz sporting competition and totally f**ked it, what with video refs, 150, 000 new rules about sheperds, grounding the ball, marking the play the ball, the killing off of scrum usefullness...BUT the one thing that really ..Really..REALLY GIVES ME THE FRIGGIN SHITS is the complete abolishment, of characters....for instance... Anyone remember Sam Backo's brilliant interview when the Raiders won a major semi or something and th… Continue

RECKY (Dave Reck) ANDREW VOSS....GRRRRR

ANDREW VOSS IS A DRIBBLIN F'N MORON...and in no way shape or form does he deserve the gig he has at Ch 9 ....there I said it....he has less sporting experience than someone in an iron lung...he takes the piss out of everything, which would be good, if the piss taking was mildly funny...it isnt...he sits on the footy show where I will admit he holds his tongue occasionally...but the Sunday Roast is his platform to spout more shit than the bondi pipeline, and doesnt he do a good job. I'll give yo… Continue

Bob Turnbull International DELL Man of the Moment

How good for the game is one Wendell Sailor. At a time when players are forced to be cardboard cutouts with all the personality of a wet paper bag one player stands tall in the player personality stakes Big Wendell !!. Not only can he talk the talk he certainly can walk the walk and is in great form for the Saints, he keeps scoring tries but also doesn't shirk the hard yards coming of the line or in defence, not bad for someone in his mid thirties. But in general love him or hate him he is good… Continue

RECKY (Dave Reck) A COUPLE OF THINGS ON MY "AHEM" MIND

RIGHTO.....lets get one thing perfectly squared away.... YES I support Rugby league, have done for the best part of 40 years. I also support Football ( no.. i'm not calling it f'n soccer) and have once again supported it for at least 40 years.... Hell I've even gone to a swans game once or twice, and following all these versions of footy have lead me to listening to PHENOMENAL amounts of shite from the administrators of the various codes.....BUT ...can someone please explain to me, how with all… Continue

Bob Turnbull Loyalty in the NRL

It amazes me the reaction to Brian Smith and his move to the Roosters for next season. Some of the comments in the media and on the street in regards to loyalty and the honouring of contracts have become almost laughable in this day and age. Coaches and players alike are just "guns for hire" today and there is never any loyalty shown by the clubs if they decide that either the Coach and or players are not producing the desired results and a decision is made to let them go.Smithy was given an opp… Continue

Bob Turnbull Are the Broncos gone for 2009 ?

That is the question are they gone for this season. The Broncos just don't seem to have any aura about them anymore and if a team like the Bunnies can come up with a game plan that exploits the defensive deficiencies of the Broncos out wide what will happen when they meet one of the premiership heavyweights. I know that they were missing Lockyer and Thaiday but would they have helped as they both have played in the previous weeks and the form hasn't been that flash. The Bennett influence is obvi… Continue

Roy Horne Let coach pick side in Origin

Maybe if the coach picked the team instead of a bunch of selectors ,maybe we would have a team worthy of going up against Queensland, lets face it the selectors pick who they want then the coach gets blamed for there bad Judgement. If the coach had the power to pick his side the thats when the Onus falls back on the coach for poor performance,Queensland seems to always pick players that have proven themselves so why cant N.S.W Continue

Roy Horne NSW STATE OF ORIGIN TEAM

N.S.W Cannot win with this team,Queensland will be to strong, they have a experienced side,we have a mediocre team with mediocre players the selectors need to start picking players that are performing like Nathan Hindmarsh, how this player didnt get picked is mind boggling, one of the best players going around, his tackle counts and commitment to the game speaks for itself, there are many players not in this side that should be through there performances on the field like,Chris Heighton,Jarrod Mulli… Continue

a scheMer sMile Twitter State of Origin

The 2009 State of Origin Series is shaping as a historical series, not only due to the fact that Queensland has the opportunity to be the first team to win four straight series and the first time the contest has been refereed by two refs but also the emergence of Twitter as an avenue of sharing your passion for the game. To celebrate this emergence of twitter on NRL I propose a Twitter State of Origin. Twitter me your Twitter name and desired position. Once all 17 positions plus coach for each… Continue

a scheMer sMile State of Origin I - Review.

Original plans of heading to Lenzy's was scrapped late in the day as our posse couldn't find a driver for the evening so stayed in to watch the game. Mutants present were Leukozade, M's, Pino, Dirty Frenchman, Jamesy, Mattus and myself. Night kicked of with a passionate bellowing of the National Anthem that rocked the foundations of the unit. In the eighth minute of the contest Hayne got NSW off to a cracker with a beautiful in and away over Slater. The change of pace he displayed in the move w… Continue
